Florida City of Zimmerman Trial Bans Guns for Neighborhood Watch Volunteers

The same city that  was the stage for a hostile trial over George Zimmerman’s defensive gun use in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin is now trying to take guns out of the hands of neighborhood watch volunteers. Sanford Florida will have a community meeting on November 5th to release new rules that will refuse a neighborhood watch volunteer from being able to carry a firearm.  The new rules will also not allow a volunteer to follow someone deemed to be suspicious.  So basically all a neighborhood watch volunteer can do is call the cops, close their blinds and go back to watching their favorite TV show. According to a recent Reuters article, neighborhood watch members will have to register with the police and a community relations unit.
